Born in Kerala, India, Sabu Chaitanya entered the spiritual life in 1984 at the age of 16 and started studying all aspects of traditional Yoga in a rigorous all-boys training school for becoming a Swami (monk.) By age 19 Sabu joined the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization and took his Yoga Teachers Training and Advanced Yoga Teachers training and became a dedicated volunteer staff member in the non-profit organization.
Since 1987, Sabu has directed and managed Yoga Centers in Madras, New Delhi, Trivandrum, Uttarkashi, and San Francisco. He has traveled to Montreal, Toronto, Whitehorse, Maine, New York, Nassau, Colorado, Chicago, and all over California teaching classes and courses in various Ashrams, Studios and Centers.
Through his own dedication to higher truth and over twenty years practicing yoga, he has been able to transmit the ancient wisdom of Yoga to thousands of people.
Sabu teaches a traditional Hatha Yoga practice that has come through the Sivananda/Vishnudevananda lineage, focusing intuitively on each and every student that he meets. Sabu is dedicated to giving organic, truthful information which he learned from his teachers; never straying from the ancient wisdom of Yoga.
Sabu’s vast experience, sincerity and dedication provide his students with truly life-transforming methods towards self-healing, balance and peace of mind. Sabu is recognized by the Yoga Alliance as an RYT500 (registered yoga teacher) and E-RYT500 (experienced registered yoga teacher) at the highest registration level.
